The Elders of the Church contribute a lot in running the Church. It is very relevant to look to involving their time effectually. The Senior Citizen forum was formed by former Metropolitan H.G. Dr. Yuhanon Mar Diascoros for the better way to reach and be enriched with the gathering of elders of our community. Anyone who has completed 60 years of age is considered to be senior citizens. Senior Citizen Forum is active at both the Church level and Diocesan level.
The Basics of The Forum:
A) Provide a forum for fellowship with one another to tackle loneliness.
B) To encourage the elderly in the church and community through prayer, fellowships and visitations.
C) To cater their social, spiritual and emotional needs through the church fraternity.
The Life in the Gathering:
Every Church unit meets regularly and leads Bible studies and group discussions in a peaceful environment under the leadership of the vicars. Unit coordinators take initiative to organise prayer fellowship and social gatherings. The gathering hosts various activities within the Church and takes part in celebrations of the Church.
